Here are some pictures of the awesome Ron Mueck Exhibition that we visited at the Pinacoteca Art Gallery.
I didn’t know this artist, but boy was I impressed! His sculptures are so realistic, it’s amazing how he can capture the day-to-day life in a variety of sizes.
We enjoyed it pretty much!

Last week Rafael and I went to the exhibition Made by Brazilians, it took place at the old Hospital Matarazzo, that was disabled for more than 20 years. Truthfully, I have seen better exhibitions, the hospital architecture impressed me more than the art itself….there was a lot of different installations and they managed to use the inside and outside of the hospital. Here are my favourites 🙂

I confess that I feel ashamed for not writing on my blog for three months, I was so excited at the beginning and wanted to post as much as I could. The reason of this abandonment is a new job. When I started the blog, I wasn’t working at the time and I was so happy that I found something so fulfilling to do. But let’s be honest, not everybody who blogs brings money home…hehehehehe So I started working at a shopping mall here in Sao Paulo, the store’s name is Farm, and no, we don’t sell dairy products, meat or anything like that hahahaha. It’s a beautiful brazilian carioca store with a little twist of a bohemian lifestyle, where you can find one thousand reasons to be happy.
I don’t know how are the jobs at shopping malls around the world, but at Farm we work six hours monday through friday (4pm-10pm), eight hours on saturday and two or three sundays per month. So as you can see, I have nearly no time for blogging, because I also have to split my time taking care of my home, yes cooking and cleaning are included..hahaha. I know that there are people who can juggle all these things plus blogging, but I confess that I need to learn how to manage my time during the week. I promise that I’ll try to post more 🙂
These past three months were not all wasted, I worked with Not The Average Joes, my boyfriend’s design studio, and now B&M has a new logo! Tell me, what do you think about it?
I fell in love with the hand lettering and colours, and that’s just the beginning!

Yesterday Rafael and I woke up kinda early for a Sunday, had a good breakfast and headed for Ibirapuera Park to visit the Mayas Exhibition. Little did I know that everyone had the same idea as us…..when we got there the waiting line to enter was gigantic! We weren’t in the mood to wait under the hot sun (theoretically it’s winter in Brazil, but yesterday felt like summer) so we decided to wander around the park and enjoy the day. Continue reading
Here in Brazil we don’t have the tradition of baking cookies. You can find some brands in the supermarket, but for me it’s not the same thing, usually they are dry and hard…not good for me! So yesterday afternoon I adventured myself in the kitchen and tried to make my first oatmeal raisin cookies, and after a little research on the web, I came across this recipe on Smitten Kitchen…thick, chewy oatmeal raisin cookies? While I was growing up in Sao Roque, a small town near Sao Paulo, my aunt and cousin had a small business at home, they sold homemade frozen meals. I would help them in the kitchen some days during the week and on weekends. Saturday was especially for pasta, my aunt would make lasagna, cannelloni, gnocchi and I was responsible for cooking them.
Yesterday I was looking for a light recipe to cook for dinner, I have this brazilian cook book, Dona Benta, and it has a lot of recipes. I came across the section of tartlets, pizzas and pies, and I finally decided to make a leek quiche. This recipe is very good, you can have it for dinner, brunch, lunch…just pick a meal!
These are probably my favourite photos of my mother (her name was Vera), they were taken before I was born. Today was supposed to be her 64th birthday. It has been 16 years, she passed away when I was 9, luckily I had the chance to spend those years with her. She was a librarian, but preferred to stay at home to take care of me and my sister, whose 8 years older than me.
