Hello you, that’s right I am talking to you, the person that is reading this post, I’m happy you are here, enjoying this experience with me 🙂 This is the first time that I’m writing a post from bed….caught a nasty cold this week, so in bed I shall stay! Can’t believe we are already in the middle of November, I am so excited for Christmas!!! (who’s with me?!). Yesterday I couldn’t help myself and started listening to Dean Martin’s and Bing Crosby’s Christmas albums on Spotify, oh how I’m dreaming of a white Christmas! Even though I haven’t seen one since we arrived in Berlin in 2015….but hope never dies! hahaha

I still have a few posts to right about our trip to France, and I hope that I will finish until the end of the year, ha! This time, I wanted to share a few pics from the city of Nîmes. Do you remember the posts that I wrote about the city of Arles?! You can find them here and here. The day that we visited Arles, we also visited Nîmes, the cities are so close, and it was already on our list, and since we stayed in France for seven days, we wanted to make the most out of it 😀

Nîmes also has a rich history dating back to the Roman Empire, and there are several famous roman monuments there.

Like the Maison Carrée, one of the best preserved Roman temple façades to be found in the territory of the former Roman Empire. We also passed by the Nîmes arena, but we didn’t take a picture of it because we were in the car. Truth be told, we went to Nîmes to see the Pont du Gard, a well preserved aqueduct, but we discovered that it was out of the city, by then it was already getting dark and we wouldn’t be able to see it 😦 but I definitely want to go back there anyway…haha

When we got to Nîmes, we were starving, so the first thing we did was find a place to have lunch.

Can’t get anymore french than a Croque Madame and a Tarte Salée with rosé wine, am I right?! Rafael was dying to try this sandwich, and he might have eaten two or three if he could…hahaha After our lunch, we walked a little bit around the city, and once more I fell in love with France ❤

You know that I have a thing with pretty doors 😀

We ended up walking to the Jardins de la Fontaine, I read that it was the first public park in Europe. It was built in the 18th century by the king’s military engineer, Jacques Philippe Mareschal, he was commissioned by King Louis XV to design and build the Jardins de la Fontaine incorporating the roman ruins.

We walked until the Tour Magne (Great Tower), another roman ruin.

You can actually go up the tower and have a fantastic view of the city, we also have to go there again in order to do that, because the minute we arrived, it was closing….oh well, but we still had an amazing view of the city, as you can see in the very first picture of this post 😉

Now this concludes our little visit to the city of Nîmes, one down, just a few to go! hahaha

You know what, I never in my life believed that I would one day actually go to France, it was always a dream of mine, I am truly thankful that it happened, I guess dreams really do come true!
