Hello beautiful people!

Can’t start yet again another post saying how long it’s been that I have not been around here, so why don’t we just skip that part and go directly to what matters…hahaha 😀 I promised myself that until the end of this year, I would share all the pics we took in France (yes, it’s still the trip that we did last year…hahaha), so here I am!

Roads of France

Will I ever finish posting the pics from our trip to France that we did more than ONE year ago?! Waiting for a signal from the universe to answer that question! hahaha So maybe I still have two or three posts to write about…oh, I was already forgetting about the food post that I want to write as well, so maybe there are still four :O So maybe until the end of this year I’ll be able to finish them…we didn’t travel this year, but could you imagine how long it would take to write about that if we did?! There is always a positive side of everything…hahaha

Gosh, I don’t even remember the last time I was around here to share something with you guys, I know that it’s been probably almost a month, and I’m not proud of it…I always say to myself that I want to write more posts, but in the end that doesn’t happen. So here I am again trying to make this happen! I’m currently sitting at my dinning table and looking outside the window, and for my surprise, it’s snowing! I think this is the first time that I’m actually seeing snow in March since I’ve been here…..I am so ready for Spring, but this winter does not want to go away! haha and baby, it’s cold outside! Several days ago, it felt like -20 degrees celsius, I didn’t want to leave the apartment! haha So of course I’m reminiscing this time last year, I was dreaming of our trip to France that happened in the end of March….sun in the sky, nice warm feeling, french language, breathtaking views and oh, the baguettes! People can tell you about the baguettes, or you can read about how it’s good, but you can only fall in love with it after you have eaten it in France! Believe me, I have bought baguettes here in Berlin where it says, made like the ones in France, but friends, that ain’t no french baguette, and will never be! hahahahaha

Life, lately…

ACS-0028

Hi people! Guess who’s back, back again?! After a two weeks of silence I am back! Not sure for how long….but that’s ok, right?! hahaha I had an interesting couple of weeks, one bad, and the other one really good…livin’ that old yin-yang life. Two weeks ago, Paco (my dog), caught the worst stomach flu ever….seriously, he has been sick before, but never like this…he threw up more than ten times before I took him to the vet. I have never seen him so weak and quiet, and for a hyper energetic dog, that was really scary. He didn’t eat for almost three whole days, he got shots, antibiotics, pills…but thank God, after five days he was his old jumpy, leash pulling little monster again! hahaha He got sick on his birthday, gosh what a present…so I wasn’t able to celebrate the proper way…I always like to take a picture of him on his birthday with those number balloons, almost what people do today to say how months old are their baby…hahaha It’s a nice way to remember him as the years pass by. I took the picture this year after his actual birthday, when he was already feeling well, and I loved the result! The balloon was way much cooler than last year’s, but since he only turned two, I can still get better and better at this! hahaha

It’s 2018 and I’m still writing about our trip to France, that happened 10 months ago…. 😮 I promise that I will try to finish until the end of this year! hahaha It may seem that we spent like a month there, but it was 7 days….one of the best seven days of my life! It’s funny to live in Europe…everything is so close, but so much different from one another, and affordable…if you keep things simple (if you live on a budget like we do), you can easily plan a yearly trip to some place new. In Brazil, travelling is hard, especially if you don’t own a car (we didn’t), everything is so expensive…so we never traveled there, sad because Brazil has so many beautiful places. But now that we are here living in Berlin, I would like to visit many, many places…I don’t know if it will be possible to travel this year, but I would definitely go France again, again in again….weirdly, I don’t have the urge to visit Paris…I mean, of course I would like to go there…especially for the Louvre museum, but since we already live in a big city, I like to travel to calmer e quieter places, and the south of France is perfect for that!

Happy Friday, you guys!! Can’t believe how fast this week went by, Christmas is already so close, and we still haven’t decided what we are going to cook for our Christmas dinner on the 24th….other than that, we are planning to go to a christmas market tomorrow here in Berlin, don’t know which one, since there are a lot of options. It’s my favourite thing to do in December here in Berlin, eat some great food, drink hot chocolate or Glühwein and enjoy the Christmas spirit!

Nîmes

IMG_8342

Hello you, that’s right I am talking to you, the person that is reading this post, I’m happy you are here, enjoying this experience with me 🙂 This is the first time that I’m writing a post from bed….caught a nasty cold this week, so in bed I shall stay! Can’t believe we are already in the middle of November, I am so excited for Christmas!!! (who’s with me?!). Yesterday I couldn’t help myself and started listening to Dean Martin’s and Bing Crosby’s Christmas albums on Spotify, oh how I’m dreaming of a white Christmas! Even though I haven’t seen one since we arrived in Berlin in 2015….but hope never dies! hahaha

I still have a few posts to right about our trip to France, and I hope that I will finish until the end of the year, ha! This time, I wanted to share a few pics from the city of Nîmes. Do you remember the posts that I wrote about the city of Arles?! You can find them here and here. The day that we visited Arles, we also visited Nîmes, the cities are so close, and it was already on our list, and since we stayed in France for seven days, we wanted to make the most out of it 😀

Arles – Part II

IMG_8315

Hey guys! Here I am again…two weeks in a row, how awesome is that?! hahaha It’s Friday night, and I am at home with cramps while Rafael is at a party, but don’t worry, no losses here, when I’m finished with this post I’m going to do some serious Netflix’n’Chill…hahaha I’ve been really hooked up on Jane the Virgin lately, I’ve spent some time neglecting it because the name didn’t appeal to me enough to try and watch it, but then a few weeks back I didn’t know what to watch and decided to give it a try, if only I known what I’ve been missing, it’s so funny (and sometimes sad, if you are watching the third season) and the characters are so great, especially Rogelio! Love that dude, so funny! Legit telenovela! hahaha Anyway, I’m going off topic here, but I could definitely ramble on a lot more about it!

What I really wanted to share today, are the last pictures that Rafael took of the city of Arles. I don’t think I mentioned this on the first post I did about Arles, but we decided to visit Arles, because Vincent van Gogh lived there from 1888 to 1889, and produced over 300 paintings and drawings during his time there. Arles – Part I

IMG_3394

Can’t believe that August is already slipping away, and with it, so is Summer, at least around here…the last couple of days were really sunny and hot, so it made sense to spend the afternoons at the park with Paco (my dog). Now, the weather has changed completely, it’s raining outside…but I’m definitely looking forward for Autumn and its charming days 🙂 I wanted to write this post last week, but I got lazy…I don’t know why, but I tend to get lazy with my personal stuff, like embroidery, the blog, or any other type of project I have in mind…..I’ve been wanting to start a bullet journal since the beginning of the year, but guess what, we are already in the second semester of the year, and I did nothing! Don’t get me wrong, I’m pretty organised with my house hold duties, I have a good routine that keeps everything flowing around here, but with my own stuff, I’m just a big procrastinator…don’t know why.

Anyways, I wanted to share some pics of our second day in France (more about it, here and here). It was raining in the morning, but not too much, if I’m recalling it well, so we decided to drive to the little city of Arles. We decided to go there because we discovered that Van Gogh lived there between the years of 1888 – 1889, and produced a lot of paintings while he was there. But there is definitely a lot more to the city than that, especially because it has a long history and was of considerable importance in the Roman province, therefore, there are a lot of Roman and Romanesque monuments.

Avignon – Part I

IMG_3367

As promised, here is the first batch of pictures from our first day in the charming city of Avignon, Provence. The city is situated on the left bank of the Rhône river, I’ve never seen such a beautiful river in my life, the blueish-green color is amazing! We stayed in the ancient town center, which is enclosed by medieval ramparts, they were built in the 14th century by the popes, and is one of the few French cities to have preserved its ramparts. Yes, if you are not aware (like I was in the beginning of this trip..haha), between 1309 and 1377, during the Avignon Papacy, seven successive popes resided in Avignon and in 1348 Pope Clement VI bought the town from Joanna I of Naples. Papal control persisted until 1791 when, during the French Revolution, it became part of France. To house the popes during the Avignon Papacy, a papal residence was built, called Palais de Papes (Papel Palace), which is one of the largest and most important medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. But I will talk about the palace on another post, because I have a lot of pictures to share just about that 😉
