Berry Clafoutis

img_7937

If you are planning to throw a dinner party this weekend, I know just the right and very, very easy dessert for you! Berry clafoutis! I first became acquainted with clafoutis in the beginning of the year, but it was actually a salty version with zucchini, but it was still very easy to make. I came across this recipe after looking up dessert recipes that were easy to make, both times that I did it, I didn’t have much time in my hands. And may I say that it may be simple, but it’s very delicious and light…the perfect dessert for us, because we eat quite a lot…hahahaha!

Embroidered T-Shirt

Finally, finally, FINALLY!!! I’m posting about my first embroidery project! To tell you the truth, I’m kinda ashamed of writing about this, because then you’ll know how good I am at procrastinating things that I want to do…but as I always say, better late than never…right?! (maybe, I don’t know…haha). If I remember correctly, when I started this project, I didn’t even have this blog…and guys, I started this blog in 2014 😮 At the time, since I didn’t know the first thing about embroidery, I asked my beloved aunt Mirley to teach me the basics, since she’s the pro in the family. Looking at it today, I see that I started with a medium hard project, and since I always expect things to be perfect the first time I do something…it was doomed from the beginning, no wonder I procrastinated so many times, and finished it last year.

Embroidered Mandala

I cannot believe that I’m finally going to write about this, I’ve been waiting since August! 😮 😮 😮 It all started in the beginning of the year, I think it was March or April, when my brazilian friend Rodrigo asked me to do an embroidery hoop for his wife. Funny thing though, we’ve been friends since 2011, we met at IBM, he was my coach in the contracts team (poor thing, he had no way to escape from craziness…haha). When I left IBM in 2012, we lost contact for a while, but Whatsapp reunited us again, much easier than writing long e-mails every once in a while, right?! Since we have always lived in different cities, I never met his wife, I only know a few things about her… like she’s a very nice yoga instructor. Continue reading

Orange Cake

Until now, not one single cake that I baked this year went wrong….so I just keep bakin’ and bakin’ 😀  To tell you the truth, I should have posted this last week, but I got really busy around here…better late than ever, right?!

These simple cakes are becoming highly addictive around here, I baked it again yesterday, which was perfect for a rainy afternoon 😀  This recipe comes again from Rita Lobo, brazilian cook that does amazing simple things in the kitchen, I’m using a lot of her recipes around here lately, can’t go wrong with them 🙂

Happy Tuesday, you guys!

I can’t believe how fast September is going, it’s almost already over 😮 I was supposed to post this last week, but I had a really bad case of PMS going on around here, I was so much irritated with everything….I couldn’t even stand myself…hahahha But now I am back to normal, so here I am…sweet as can be! ha!

I’ve been baking a lot lately, and I think that I finally learned to bake cakes! In the past, baking cakes was a total disaster…funny, right?! because they’re supposed to be easy, but not for me! Because of that, every time I bake a cake, I get really nervous, because I hate doing something in the kitchen that goes wrong, but nowadays I am becoming better with that (I swear).

Sorry for the long silent treatment around here….I know, I know…almost died without me….hahahha of course not!

Nothing special going around here lately, just living the common house wife life, except with one more addition to it!

I decided to properly introduce Paco (Paquito is little Paco in Portuguese ❤ )  on the blog! If you follow me on Instagram (@brunaiglezias), you know that it has been just a little more than one month that Paco is in our lives!

Taco Tuesday!

IMG_7824

Happy August, you guys!!

It’s been a while since I was craving tacos, and yesterday, after a failed attempt on trying to build a meal plan for at least this week, I decided to make tacos today!! This recipe is very similar to a burrito one that I’ve been doing a lot lately over here (which I still need to post!), but I don’t know why I find taco shells really fun to eat, even if you make a big mess (which I do…ha!).

Funkhaus Berlin

Three Sundays ago, Rafael and I went to an open air event hosted by Bite Club at Funkhaus, as you can see here. We went of course, for the food, and also for the Funkhaus tour. Before that, I had never heard about this place, so I looked it up and found out that is was East Germany’s central radio station, we got pretty curious after that, and couldn’t wait to see it!

Treat of the Week

IMG_7774

This week was a very special one, Tuesday was Rafa’s birthday!! I wanted to surprise him, since I wasn’t able to give him the present that I had in mind, so I decided to bake him a cake! Some of you may be thinking…really, a cake?! Yes! I do not have a great history with cakes, I cook a lot of good things around here, but I always had trouble with cakes…some of then didn’t grow, some weren’t baked right…so you can imagine the level of anxiety I was feeling when I decided to bake a cake, it couldn’t go wrong! And guess what, it didn’t! A big HOORAY for me!! hahaha
