Sundays are for Homemade Pasta

IMG_7505

Now that I am fully equipped with a pasta machine (yes, Rafael gave it to me as a birthday present, I can totally see second intentions there…hahaha), my Sundays will be for homemade pasta! Yesterday, Rafael and I spent the afternoon making pasta from scratch for our late lunch, or would it be an early dinner?! (our typical Sunday around here). In the end it doesn’t matter, what matters is that we ate the most delicious pasta! Seriously, we wanted to eat it all at once, if it would’d been possible we had probably done it…hahaha

Happy Monday, friends!!

Hope you all had a good weekend ๐Ÿ™‚ Over here, we had a really nice one! Saturday evening we went to a Vernissage where our friend was exposing one of her pieces of art. We met some friends there, had some drinks and in the end of the night ate some pizza! I should have taken a picture of her work, but I forgot :/ what I can say is that is was one best there! Yesterday, we slept in, and had a lazy day on the couch watching movies and series…and had pizza again at night…definitely one of the best things in life โค hahaha

But my life is not just pizza, guys..haha if you follow along Instagram (follow me, @brunaiglezias), you have noticed that I venture myself doing some embroidery hoops. I already posted my first embroidery hoop here on the blog, but I never posted my other hoops. So today, I decided to share them ๐Ÿ˜€

Do Yoga With Me

yoga pose

I’ve been fascinated by yoga since 2011, at the time I lived in Campinas – Brazil, and I was a member of gym that offered yoga classes once a week at night. I usually went to the gym straight from work, I always preferred doing exercise in the evening than in the morning. I remember that after a whole day sitting down in front of a computer, yoga kept my body and mind fully relaxed. Sadly, the classes lasted for about a year, because I moved to Sรฃo Paulo. I tried finding a good studio or gym near my house to continue, but there wasn’t a lot, and the ones that were close were way too expensive. But I never gave yoga up, just put it on hold for a little while to discover a way to practise.

Cheers to 28!

IMG_2644

So, yesterday I turned 28 years old! Cannot stop thinking that it’s closer and closer to 30 ๐Ÿ˜ฎ but what can we do right?! Time passes by so quickly, the only thing we can do about it is enjoy it as much as possible, am I right?! I definitely don’t feel 28, despite the fact that hangovers are getting much easier to suffer from as each year goes by. It’s like, ok body I understand you, you’re not processing alcohol as fast as you used to, especially when it comes to beer. But on the bright side, every time we go out for drinks, I find myself drinking less (it’s a good thing, no?! lol) and switching to spritz, cocktails or wine.

A Little Bit of Moabit

IMG_7399

Happy Monday, friends!!

We’ve been staying for almost a month now in a friends apartment in the neighbourhood of Moabit here in Berlin. Our apartment was rented until May 15th since we didn’t know when we were coming back. Luckily, our landlord decided to rent it for us again, so we are moving back to Neukรถlln this weekend. It’s been very interesting to know a “new” neighbourhood, Moabit is much more quiet than Neukรถlln, more like a family place. Today, everybody wants to live in Neukรถlln, its become kinda of a hipster neighbourhood, with a lot of young people, bars and countless places to eat. I like to live in Neukรถlln because Tempelhofer Feld is basically my backyard, but in a near future I wouldn’t mind moving to a calmer place…let’s face it, we are not that young and we don’t party all the time…hahahha

A Month Away and a lot of things to Say

IMG_0738

May the 4th be with you!! Best month of all, because it’s my month! hahaha

It’s funny how life can change so much in such a short period. You plan, and plan, and plan, but suddenly without any previous notice, destiny comes and changes everything…Thank God this time was for better! Last time I wrote a post here, we were still in sunny Brazil, trying to deal with 33 degrees Celsius in the beginning of Autumn! haha Just ten days after we had to rush through our things and pack our belongings to come back to this beautiful city that is Berlin!

Hamburg – Part II

IMG_6893

Hi guys! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter like we did! We spent the weekend at Rafael’s grandmother, and I had a lot of fun. Rafael’s two year old cousin, Daniel was there, boy did we play! It’s such a fun age, he laughs at anything, it’s so adorable! Can’t wait to have one myself! (No need for panic if you’re reading this, Rafael….hahahhaha).

Continuing our journey in Hamburg, I left the best for last! We did a little boat tour around the port, and we got to see beautiful buildings and some nice ships, hope you enjoy ๐Ÿ˜€

Hamburg – Part I

IMG_6841

Back in December, we did our last quick trip of the year to the city of Hamburg. We had a lot of fun that day, besides of the cold and drizzling weather. I was really amazed by the city, the new blending with the old, the modern architecture is a treat for the eyes. At the end of the night we strolled around a beautiful neighbourhood, the apartments were beautiful, all surrounded by trees, plants and flowers…I would move there easily!

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Arracacha Gnocchi with Sage Butter

IMG_7306

I was supposed to post this on Monday, because I made this last Sunday for lunch. But Monday I didn’t download the pictures from the camera and then Tuesday I woke up with the most annoying cold. I got a little better today, but still got an itchy and stuffy nose with a little headache. But let’s not concentrate in the bad, because I have a super delicious recipe to share ๐Ÿ™‚
